Stanford Day of Giving May 13th, 2026

I wanted to let you know tomorrow, May 13th, we are having the Day of Giving at Stanford again where gifts up to 5K per donor (10K per couple) get matched dollar for dollar.  My team is trying to launch their trial by the end of this year and they could use all the help they can get! Would you be willing to donate again this year? We raised almost 300K for them last year!! I also get to be on the ambassador leader board (because we did so well) and if I get the most amount of donors (doesn’t matter the amount) I get an extra 25K for the team!  It would mean so much if you could send something out to your family/friends, post something on social media OR you could even split your donation by sending it under one of the different designations. (I’ll explain in the directions below) I’m super motivated to help them so I’m trying to think of all the ways possible to make #1 and get as many research dollars for the team as possible!!❤️

DIRECTIONS:

1.  Tomorrow click on the following link

https://dayofgiving.stanford.edu/pages/stanford-medicine?referral_id=69a8d7f19f3e3ef7f2649d2a

2. SUPER IMPORTANT STEP:  Type GHESR DR KIM in the other designations box.

3.  If you would like to split your contribution to help me unlock the 25K, repeat step 1 and instead of GHESR use HAFSE in the other designations box. Any amount counts!

I will send out another reminder tomorrow morning!

If you want to meet my team here is a link to a zoom call we had last week where Dr Kim explains the teams involvement/structure and Dr Khodadaust gives an update on their research.  He would have been an amazing science teacher!!!

If you have any questions or problems while navigating the donation portal don’t hesitate to call me!

Thank you so much!!

My Story

I’m Jen Varela, a mom of five, wife of 26 years, former flight instructor, IronMan, two-time 29029 finisher, and cancer fighter.

After being misdiagnosed for two years, I was diagnosed with Sézary Syndrome, a rare and incurable form of Cutaneous T-cell Lymphoma. A clinical trial at Stanford gave me seven years of normalcy and showed me firsthand the life-changing power of research.

This Wednesday, May 13th, is Stanford’s Day of Giving. Gifts will be matched dollar for dollar, and my Stanford team is working to launch a new clinical trial by the end of the year. Every donor helps, no matter the amount, and if I bring in the most donors, an additional $25,000 will go directly to the team.
